Couch Fire Subscription Card

To begin using Couch Fire you are going to need to:

• Download the Couch Fire package for your Newton,
• Provide us with some subscriber info and email preferences,
• And select the channels you would like to receive.

To view the weekly Couch Fire updates, you'll need to have the Couch Fire package on your Newton. Select one of the the following files and use it to install the Couch Fire package to your Newton.

• COUCHFIR.ZIP - PC file with ZIP compression

• CouchFire.hqx - Macintosh Stuffit file with BinHex encoding

Subscriber Info

Next is the first of two forms that will enable us to start your subscription. We'll get the logistical questions out of the way first. Then you'll get to choose which channels you want to receive each week.

All infomation you provide here will be kept in the strictest confidence. Tempest will never sell or give away your address or personal info unless you specifically give us authorization -- and for the foreseeable future, we are not even going to ask.

Selecting Channels

I know that you're excited, but before you select every channel in our lineup. Please note that each channel takes up storage space on your Newton. The broadcast and variety cable channels require about 85K per channel. Movie, sports and news channels average around 75K. Oh yeah, the Couch Fire application takes up about 170K.

So keep in mind how much storage space you have available as you select the channels you wish to receive each week.

Now with the logistical stuff is out of the way, let's talk TV.

Below you'll find a list of over 194 channels and feeds that you can choose for your channel lineup. They are broken up into broadcast network channels and cable channels.

For broadcast networks you have the option of selecting your metro area, another metro area in your time zone (primetime schedules will match but some specific shows may be different), a bundle of stations carried via satellite, or you can mix and match:
